The concept of the Citizen's Police Academy (C.P.A.) involves a partnership with the citizens of Corpus Christi and the Corpus Christi Police Department. The benefits of such a partnership can only help strengthen the entire community in terms of public safety and quality of life.

The Corpus Christi Citizens Police Academy Alumni, Inc. (CPAA) consist of those dedicated individuals who have successfully completed a free, twelve week citizenspolice academy presented by the Corpus Christi Police Department, and who are interested in continuing their education in and support of the local law enforcement. Through monthly membershipmeetings, certification level training, short course continuing legal educationand field trips, individuals interested in maintaining an ongoing relationship with the Corpus Christi Police Departmentbecome involved in various functions which objectives include fundraising, police community relations and volunteer efforts benefitting the Police Department.

1. Maintain an ongoing relationship with the Police Department and to encourage support for all law enforcement.
2. Improve relations between the Police Department and the Community in all phases of law enforcement activities.
3. Increase membership by recruiting Citizen Police Academy graduates and encouraging concerned citizens to participate in the CPA couse.
4. Establish fundraising activities for the purpose of support of the Corpus Christi Police Department, the Corpus Christi Police Academy, and the Citizens Police Academy.
